Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
The tacky Daves have made their intentions clear its stay in the EL only until they sell. We sell to buy

I think Man U will come for Rice and we do a deal which includes Lingard,

Anderson , Lanzini , Yarmo will be sold imo to cut ours losses. Moyes is astute in the transfer market so I can see us having a much better balanced team next season

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
1. ST
Abdallah Sima (Antonio will be backup)

2. CM
Leander Dendoncker (if Rice or Soucek is sold, promote Conventry as backup)

3. LB
Pretty anyone is better than Masuaku/Johnson. Who’s the LB for Slavia Prague?

collyrob 10:27 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
Lingard
Maitlend-niles
Odsonne Eduard.

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
Barty - If you take Lingard out of your first sentence you could've used that line for the last two windows.

Funny that.

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
We could always resurrect last winters or last summers transfer thread, as we still need the same positions strengthening?

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
Apparently alves is highly thought ofguessing will be fourth centre back

I would guess I young cm to fill in

A first choice keeper, LB, Lingard (or similar) and first choice striker will be main transfers

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I don't really see the need for a new LB. We have Cresswell and Johnson. Masuaku is a LWB and would I suspect only really play at LB in a pinch in a back 4. What Moyes really needs to decide is if his preferred formation is a back 3 or a 4, and if it's a 3 then he needs ANOTHER LWB to go with Masuaku.

We only really need a new CB is Balbuena goes (and even that is questionable if one of Alves, Baptiste or the other academy graduates is ready to be 4th/5th choice choice).

We unquestionably need another CM to challenge Rice and Soucek and provide relief/cover.

I wouldn't be surprised if we cut our losses on Benrahma, sold Lanzini, shifted out Yarmalenko, and failed to sign Lingard (as well as ending up stuck with Anderson). I can see AM needing major surgery this summer.

And of course we need at least one more CF to support/replace/share the load with Antonio.

I also think we need a GK to challenge/be ready to step in for Fabianski.

So in summary:

CM x 1 (unless of course the unthinkable happens and we lose Rice or Soucek)
AM x 2 or 3 (depending on ins and outs, hopefully one of which is Lingard put I suspect it won't be)
ST x 1
GK x 1

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
Gk
centre back
Left back
Centre mid
2 forwards.

Plus Lingard.

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
INS

Lingard
Striker (maybe need 2)
CM (maybe need 2)
LB

OUT

Anderson
Yarmo
Lanzini
Balbuena (free)
Randolph (if we have enough cash to pick up another decent keeper)

In terms of options CM wise like Da Silva of Brentford or would take Loftus Cheek on loan. Striker i like look of the Sevilla bloke then would get in a loan as cover especially if we will be on thursday nights. Left back fuck knows, CB if we replace Balbuena then O'Connoll at Sheff Utd be decent or Anderson at Fulham at the moment. GK Sam Johnstone think obvious target if they drop.....Pope will be too much £

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
Barty that's what we need but we'll get Lingard, a striker and a cheap midfielder imo.

Stowie.40 2:10 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I’d consider moving Masakau on if possible as well, he is only decent at LWB. Make more sense to sign a left back who can also play wing back like Cresswell could when he first came. Maybe the lad at Brentford

Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I quite like the look of Andersen at Fulham who we’ve been linked with. I also wouldn’t mind Lookman.

Barty 2:41 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I completely forgot about Anderson!

according to wikipedia Anderson has only played 4 matches this season for Porto, does anyone know how he has done this season?

Mr. Burns 2:44 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I agree with that Duke, think he's looked good. Lyon might ramp the price up he's if a few interested though. The other one I like at Fulham is Harrison REED, think he'd be a good addition in central midfield. In terms of keepers, I think Sam JOHNSTONE at WBA has looked the best bet.

I think we've got to be careful though, don't just want to add numbers we want quality max three players maybe.

goose 2:56 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
i wouldn't get your hopes up about bringing in more than a couple of players. Lingard alone will eat up the vast majority of the (reported) budget.

Sam Johnstone appears to be one of those keepers who will make a world class save and then chuck one on his own net. The fella at Fulham is a much better keeper.

Mr. Burns 3:00 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
That pretty much goes for all keepers it seems Goose, I’m sure the bloke at Fulham has made a few clangers.

riosleftsock 3:04 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
I agree with Burns about the west brom keeper, looks a good prospect.

goose 3:04 Mon Apr 26
Re: How about the summer transfer window thread?
maybe he's made some i've not noticed this season.

i've seen Johnstone a few times and he seems to have it in him - just like saturday when Villa equalized late on.......... not completely his fault but a top class keeper takes charge of that situation.
